Emily concentrates her practice in construction litigation in both state and federal courts as well as in alternative dispute resolution settings.  She represents general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, material suppliers, and other parties in disputes involving construction and design defects, contract and change order disputes, liens, delays, unforeseen conditions, and out-of-scope work claims on public and private projects.

Prior to joining Hirschler, Emily practiced at Shutts & Bowen, LLP in Orlando, Florida.  In 2022, she received recognition from Best Lawyers in America®, Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation and Construction Law.  In 2023, she also received acknowledgement for Litigation – Construction.

Pursued and defended claims and lawsuits on behalf of general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in state and federal court litigation.

Obtained the dismissal of a lawsuit on behalf of a national homebuilder related to tort claims arising out of the purchase of a residential development.

Obtained partial summary judgment on behalf of global corporation related to breach of contract and tort claims arising out of a resort renovation project.

Represented a subcontractor in arbitration regarding the renovation of a large hotel and conference center.

Represented a general contractor in numerous breach of contract actions against owners, subcontractors and suppliers on various projects nationwide.

Defended a design engineering firm from professional negligence claims related to a state-owned port project.

Defended a subcontractor from defective work allegations brought by a general contractor related to a state-owned bridge project.

Defended a subcontractor from delay and defective work allegations brought by a general contractor related to the construction of a large hotel project.

Assisted clients with contract negotiations on private commercial projects throughout the state of Florida.

Emily is a Pennsylvania native now residing in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and young son. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions and her beloved Philadelphia sports teams. Go Birds!
