"A great business lawyer solves a legal issue by viewing it through a business lens. Law is my background. Business is my passion. As an entrepreneur and former in-house counsel, I am uniquely positioned to serve my business clients."
Rakesh’s practice focuses on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, formations, and “best practices” corporate governance. Rakesh is a business-minded lawyer that understands a balance sheet. Holding an advanced business degree, Rakesh serves his clients’ needs by adeptly drafting, reviewing, and negotiating deal documents and a variety of commercial contracts including vendor, technology, and intellectual property agreements. Rakesh is an M&A attorney known for his ability to creatively use the law to achieve his clients’ goals.
Before joining Hirschler, Rakesh served as Manager, Senior Counsel of a global insurance company in Richmond, Virginia, and as General Counsel for a leading national fuel distributor.
As in-house counsel, Rakesh mastered communication with senior executives and fellow corporate counsel. His successful practice is propelled by his profound understanding of the internal driving factors behind a client’s decision. Having directed outside counsel, actively participated in drafting deal documents, and managed prospective mergers and acquisitions, Rakesh bridges the gap between outside counsel and the client. Rakesh earned the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) designation for the Agile framework and used this to understand the intricacies behind running a company and the everyday fires requiring constant task re-prioritization by the client. Rakesh joined Hirschler – large enough to have ample resources and lean enough to remain nimble – to efficiently execute on a business client’s priorities.
