Hirschler Fleischer announces that three of its attorneys are included among Washingtonian Magazine’s 2017 list of Top Lawyers. Lawrence A. Katz, Stephen E. Leach and M. Jay Yurow of the firm's Tysons, Va., office were recognized in the biennial list, which published December 1. Washingtonian Magazine names its Top Lawyers through a combination of editorial staff research, peer review and reporting. The list includes 700 attorneys from 20 practice specialties across the Washington, D.C., area.

With 38 years of legal experience, Katz represents debtors and creditors, including lenders, real estate and hotel developers, business entrepreneurs, creditors' committees, bankruptcy trustees and individuals in Chapter 11 reorganizations, liquidations and out-of-court restructurings. He earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Leach has nearly 40 years of experience advising and representing creditors, debtors, trustees and committees in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, out-of-court workouts and business dissolutions. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his law degree from Stanford University.

Yurow represents borrowers and lenders in secured lending transactions involving hotel, office, retail, and industrial properties. In addition to a local practice, he has closed hundreds of hotel finance deals throughout the United States. He also represents owners and developers of commercial properties in sale / purchase and leasing transactions. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and his law degree from Tulane University Law School.
