Makaela supports clients and project teams through all phases of the planning and entitlements process. Drawing on experience in municipal planning, zoning administration, ordinance development, and community engagement, she helps clients navigate regulatory requirements and moves projects efficiently from concept to approval.
During her career, Makaela has developed a strong understanding of how planning policy translates into real-world outcomes. Her work includes development review, ordinance research, GIS analysis, and stakeholder coordination to provide clients with practical solutions that align with the visions of the municipality.
By identifying potential issues early and fostering collaboration between clients, local governments, and community stakeholders, Makaela advances projects while balancing objectives and goals in order to create vibrant, sustainable communities.

Makaela moved to the Fredericksburg area from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Outside of the office, she enjoys exploring new walkable towns, volunteering with her local community, and spending time in nature.
