Working on behalf of the Capital Region Land Conservancy, Hirschler attorneys Brandt Stitzer and Scott Miller and paralegal Susan Smith helped complete the acquisition of property from long-time stewards and property owners John and Ingrid Greenwood.

The $2,400,000 deal involved property from three jurisdictions, including 42-acres of historic islands and Appomattox river-front property, and for the first time in 160 years, this land has been unified under public ownership.

The land opens up many possibilities for the public, adding river frontage at the Appomattox and acting as a key trail connector.  Chesterfield County contributed $1,750,000 toward the acquisition and the majority of the property will be eventually transferred to Chesterfield County for a public park.
