Hirschler is proud to announce that the firm has been named as a Top Law Firm for Empowering Women by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. This prestigious award is given to firms that have shown a strong commitment to empowering and supporting women attorneys and employees in Virginia. It recognizes the tangible and innovative efforts made by these firms to advance women in the workplace and community.

Attributing this recognition to tangible endeavors, this awards program recognizes leaders in elevating women within the firm and the legal community based on action and results. The establishment of the firm’s Women's Initiative Network (WIN) in 2003 underscores the firm's longstanding and multifaceted commitment to gender diversity. Over the past two decades, Hirschler has been focused on recruiting, retaining, and promoting women. WIN serves as a platform for mentoring and personal and professional development.

"Receiving the Empowering Women Award from Virginia Lawyers Weekly is a testament to the commitment, intentionality and hard work of our team at Hirschler to ensure everyone has the opportunity for success,” said Courtney Moates Paulk, president of Hirschler. “We are honored to be recognized for our efforts and dedication to promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. We will continue to strive towards creating an empowering and supportive environment for all our employees, and we hope to inspire others in the legal community to do the same."

Hirschler is also dedicated to proactive gender-related issues and promoting inclusivity. The firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committee extends the commitment to ensure a collaborative culture that reflects the diverse values of society. Hirschler has received the Midsized Mansfield™ Rule Certification from Diversity Lab, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring that all talent has fair and equal opportunities to advance into leadership.

Additional efforts in Hirschler’s work to combat inequality include a variety of outside philanthropic efforts and community endeavors. Two members of Hirschler's WIN are involved in the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Network (IWIRC). Through IWIRC, Hirschler partner Britt Falabella organizes clothing drives for underprivileged women looking to return to the professional workforce. The firm was also one of the early supporters of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Hirschler attorneys have previously been involved with NAWBO's Richmond, Virginia chapter.

Honorees were included in a spotlight section published in the March 18, 2024, edition of Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
