In an article published on Oct. 2, 2015 in Healthcare Business Today, Emily M. Scott provides insight on the proposed rule of Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The proposed rule expands the protections of several existing antidiscrimination statutes to healthcare programs and activities. Specifically, Section 1557 prohibits discrimination of race, sex, age and disability.
