Ryan represents investors, developers, and lenders in complex commercial real estate transactions. He has experience in a wide range of areas, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, financing, commercial leasing, and joint ventures for multifamily, hospitality, senior living, office, medical, retail, and industrial properties.

Ryan recognizes that each client's business and goals are unique. He leverages creative thinking, responsiveness, and broad experience to provide exceptional service tailored to the particular needs of each client.

Before joining Hirschler, Ryan practiced at Arent Fox LLP (now ArentFox Schiff LLP) in Washington, D.C.

Experience

Experience

Advised a fund in its tenant-in-common arrangement with a family office to acquire a $102 million multifamily apartment complex, including negotiation of tenant-in-common and property management documentation, financing documents, purchase and sale agreement, and closing documents.

Representation of the owner and manager of anchored retail shopping centers in the acquisition and disposition of existing shopping center properties and newly formed outparcels in multiple states throughout the southeast and mid-Atlantic.

Regularly counsel an industrial manufacturer in connection with its leasing of warehouse, manufacturing, and office space comprising 5,000-15,000 square feet at multiple sites throughout the U.S. and other real estate related issues in its acquisition of corporate targets.

Representation of a real estate developer in the acquisition or ground leasing and financing of property for build-to-suit leasing by state or federal government agencies throughout the U.S., including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Routinely advise a national homebuilder in its negotiations and acquisitions of raw land and developed lots in Northern Virginia.

A lover of history, Ryan enjoys reading biographies of U.S. Presidents and traveling to historic sites in Virginia and around the world. He enjoys live music, particularly bluegrass, folk rock, and Texas country.

Ryan is a sports fanatic and for better or for worse, an avid supporter of all University of Virginia teams. He and wife Elizabeth are actively working to raise their two young children to support the 'Hoos.
