Caroline specializes in providing expert counsel to clients on complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions, guiding clients through the process to achieve their objectives. She is committed to ensuring successful and efficient transaction closings while understanding the attention to detail needed to mitigate client risk. Her extensive experience covers comprehensive representation of clients in all stages of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing (borrower and lender), and development for multifamily housing, senior living, affordable housing, office, medical facilities and industrial properties.

Caroline’s experience includes representing real estate owners and developers, landlords and tenants, business owners, and lenders. She has a focused practice advising lending clients in affordable housing transactions for acquisition, refinance, pre-development, construction, bridge, leasehold, and permanent financings secured by real property and other forms of collateral.

Prior to joining Hirschler, Caroline was part of the Multifamily Housing Finance Section at Troutman Sanders (now Troutman Pepper) where she counseled mortgage banking clients in the origination, sale and servicing of loans sold to agency lenders, and she practiced at Hancock, Daniel & Johnson, P.C. as a lawyer on their corporate team.

Advised corporate clients in the purchase and sale of real property, including development, leasing, financing, acquisition and disposition of assets, and corporate structuring.

Regularly serves as lead counsel for non-profit lender involved in nationwide affordable housing financing transactions related to acquisition, refinance, pre-development, construction, bridge, leasehold, and permanent financings secured by real property and other forms of collateral,.

Regularly represents national developer in acquisition transactions including drafting and negotiation purchase and sales agreements and completing due diligence through various stages of the transactions.

Represented health care systems in complex transaction involving the sale of assets.

Caroline returned to her hometown of Richmond after spending time in Charlottesville, Virginia for college and Chapel Hill, North Carolina for law school. Outside of the office, Caroline enjoys staying active and is an avid UVA fan. She can be found exploring new areas of Richmond with her labradoodle, Bennett, and enjoying time on the Rappahannock River with friends and family.
