Hirschler Fleischer has been ranked among the nation’s leading law firms in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA. For the ninth consecutive year, the firm earned a Tier 1 ranking in real estate for Southern Virginia.
Chambers USA named two shareholders as Tier 1 Leading Individuals in their respective practice areas for Southern Virginia: Michael H. Terry for real estate and James W. Theobald for zoning/land use. Real estate section leader Charles H. Rothenberg was ranked in Tier 2 for both real estate and zoning/land use, and firm general counsel Charles F. Witthoefft earned a Tier 2 ranking for litigation: general commercial. Chambers USA also recognized Fredericksburg shareholder Charles W. Payne as a regional “Up and Coming” lawyer in real estate.
Sources told Chambers editors, “Hirschler Fleischer is absolutely wonderful - a top-line firm." Mike Terry was praised for his "intelligence, quick and responsive attitude," with one source commenting "there is no one better in real estate.” Interviewees dubbed Jim Theobald the “dean of land use” and noted “he is very good at dealing with the local community.” Chambers editors also relayed praise for litigator Rick Witthoefft’s “impressive work ethic and ability to get results.” They commented on Chuck Rothenberg’s “extensive practice covering commercial real estate, acquisition and development, land use and zoning,” and Charlie Payne’s “considerable expertise in commercial real estate and PPPs.”
