To compile the annual Legal Elite list, Virginia Business surveys members of the Virginia Bar Association, asking them to nominate who they believe to be the most effective attorneys across 18 practice areas. For the 2015 edition, nearly 3,800 nominees were considered. Roughly 25 percent of the nominees made the final list.
